29.06.21 HORTICULTURIST, MAINTENANCE TEAM - LEADING HAND
Adam Robinson Design’s Garden Angels team is hiring!
We are looking for a Horticulturist, Maintenance Team – Leading Hand to join our team to deliver bespoke maintenance, gardening services on a 3 – 4 days per week basis.
Someone experienced would be great but we are also happy to mentor a new graduate or even someone who is still studying and provide training to the right applicant. The successful person would be responsible for planning and hands-on implementation and maintenance of our client’s precious outdoor spaces. This requires timely and effective fulfilment of seasonal gardening maintenance program set out by Garden Angels GM. Tasks set by GM will need to be prioritised and completed efficiently and effectively, whilst working well as part of the maintenance team you will also develop professional relationships with the Adam Robinson Design community of clients, ensuring maintenance services are delivered in friendly, collaborative manner.
Education and Experience
Tertiary qualification in horticulture is preferred but we are open to applicants who are still studying or newly graduated.
Experience in hands on management & maintenance of gardens is preferable but not absolutely necessary
Experience in formulating and implementing feasible and sustainable programs for gardens and open spaces is preferable but not absolutely necessary
Experience complying with Workplace Health & Safety and Safe Work Practices.
Experience using hand tools and operating power tools.
Some experience in installing small garden designs – spatial planning, planting, etc
Experience fostering strong, positive ongoing relationships with other team members
Demonstrated degree of computer skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage and build strong relationships with clients and other team members.
Eye for detail and quality in gardening and WHS.
Ability to initiate, organise and prioritise maintenance tasks with a solution focused outlook.
Ability to take accountability for timely resolution of issues to a high-quality standard.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to motivate the achievement of team goals & deadlines.
Ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities in a calm and measured manner.
Takes direction well and shows initiative.
Has a valid NSW Driver’s License.
Physically fit and able to do manual labour.
A good sense of humour.
