Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) members provide professional landscape services.
The Institute was founded by graduates of the Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Landscape) to promote the professions of Landscape Design and Environmental Management and to support landscape practitioners. In the years since its inception, over 900 members have joined.
AILDM membership offers the opportunity to network with fellow professionals, enhance business practice through further education and access a range of services including insurance, marketing opportunities, professional brochures, seminars and local ‘get-togethers’.
Membership of AILDM is now being used by many councils as an automatic credential for eligibility to submit landscape plans with development applications.
AILDM is actively engaged in promoting the benefits of using professional landscape designers through its involvement in magazines, garden judging and garden show activities. An AILDM national landscape design competition provides an excellent showcase for the high quality of its members work and opportunities for media recognition.
Membership is Australia-wide. The strength of the Institute lies in the professional skills of its members.
Eight grades of membership are provided within the Institute:
- Fellow, nominated by AILDM
- Member, qualified
