Yes, it's that exciting time of year again with Melbourne Cup lunches and parties on the 1st Tuesday of November followed by the big event of the year on the 2nd Tuesday of that month;

AILDM's Seminar/AGM/Dinner.

Excitement builds as bets are laid on both events. Who'll win the cup, who'll be on the National Council for the next two years and who will assume the mantle of AILDM President from that grey bearded chap.

The afternoon begins with two very interesting speakers (see below) followed by the AGM and then the always relaxed and happy dinner to end the day. Knowledge, networking, laughter and relaxation are the order of the day.

Bernard Chapman's talk is titled, Slow Cooked Garden Design.
The thrust of the talk (and related photos and presentation) will be that, as the slow food movement is the antithesis of fast food, Bernard's style of garden design is the opposite of instant garden installation. Indeed, some of his garden designs are twenty years in the making! In fact he believes even when a garden is designed and installed it is really just the beginning of the process, as the garden owner, paid managers, and nature itself affect how the garden eventually turns out.
